Biography
Rumana Tasnim is an academic
and researcher specializing in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, with a
strong focus on Smart Sensing, Instrumentation, IoT, Robotics and Machine
Learning. She holds a Master of Science in Electronic Engineering from the
International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and a Bachelor of Science in
Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the International University of
Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT), Dhaka.
She currently serves as an
Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at the World
University of Bangladesh (WUB). With nearly eight years of teaching experience,
she has taught a wide range of courses and supervised numerous undergraduate
theses across various research areas. Her commitment to teaching excellence has
earned her the highest evaluations in the department on multiple occasions.
Ms. Tasnim is actively involved in
mentoring students academically, supporting their career development, and
guiding them toward higher education opportunities. Her mentorship has helped
many students successfully pursue graduate studies and careers in engineering
and technology. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she previously
worked with the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in the Department
of Mechatronics Engineering at WUB. There, she played a key role in developing
OBE-based curricula and course profiles, conducting surveys and data analysis,
and preparing Self-Assessment Reports (SAR) and Improvement Plans.
She was an organizing
committee member of the 1st International Conference on Emerging
Trends in Engineering and Advanced Science (ICETEAS 2021), jointly organized by
the Departments of Mechatronics Engineering and Electrical & Electronic
Engineering at WUB. She served as both Editor and Technical
Session Convener there. Additionally, she was a Technical Program
Committee member of the 10th International Conference on Electrical
Engineering and Informatics, held in Malaysia, contributing to academic
peer review and international research collaboration.
Ms. Tasnim has also contributed to
student development through her roles as Faculty Advisor of the IEOM
Society WUB Chapter and currently as Advisor to the WUB
Robotics Club. She has organized and led multiple webinars and workshops,
often serving as a Convener and Keynote Speaker.
She has authored a total of 72
scholarly publications, including:

- 22 book chapters
Her research focuses on Smart
Sensing, Instrumentation, and the Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics &
Machine Learning.
