About Club

The World University of Bangladesh Mechanical Engineering Club (WUBMEC) is a platform for those who are eager to explore, innovate, and grow in the field of mechanical engineering. Our aim is to connect what we learn in the classroom with practical, real-world applications through projects, workshops, seminars, and industry exposure.

Vision

Our vision is to create a vibrant and inclusive community where mechanical engineering students are encouraged to think creatively, work collaboratively, and take on challenges.

Mission

Our mission is to build skills and confidence by engaging in hands-on projects, internships, and factory visits in partnership with industry leaders. We want to inspire innovation through
research, foster personal growth through professional development activities, and encourage teamwork. At the same time, we strive to make a positive impact on our community by
promoting awareness and sharing knowledge about the power of mechanical engineering.

Activities

  • We conduct workshops and training on design and simulation tools such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, and MATLAB.
  • We host seminars and guest lectures featuring industry professionals, alumni, and faculty experts.
  • We work on practical projects, developing prototypes and tackling engineering problems with creative solutions.
  • We take part in competitions and hackathons, proudly representing WUB and pushing ourselves to achieve more.
  • We organize industrial visits to factories and research institutions to experience real- world practices.
  • We arrange fresher’s receptions and outreach events to welcome new students and inspire future engineers.

Goals

  1. Innovation and Research: Encourage creative thinking and technical exploration by supporting student-led research, prototype development, and projects in areas such as thermodynamics, manufacturing, robotics, renewable energy, and smart systems to drive engineering innovation.
  2. Community Engagement: Apply mechanical engineering knowledge for societal benefit through outreach initiatives such as STEM workshops for school students, technical support during emergencies, and designing low-cost solutions for local communities.
  3. Teamwork and Leadership: Foster collaboration and leadership by organizing group-based design challenges, project teams, and peer mentoring programs that promote responsibility, communication, and effective teamwork among members.
  4. Professional Development: Enhance technical and soft skills through hands-on workshops, guest lectures from industry experts, industrial visits, and training in CAD, CNC, PLC, and other industry-relevant tools and technologies.
  5. Career Readiness: Prepare students for successful careers by connecting them with internships, industrial partnerships, and job placement opportunities, while building practical experience through real-world engineering projects and industry collaboration.
  6. National Competitions: Represent WUB in national engineering challenges, robotics contests, and design expos to showcase talent, gain recognition, and develop competitive skills alongside peers from top engineering institutions across Bangladesh.

Policies / Membership

  • Membership in WUBMEC is open to all students of Mechanical Engineering.
  • Selection is done through interviews, and a small semester fee supports our activities.
  • Memberships are renewed every half-year to keep the club dynamic and engaged.
