Biography
Masud Rana is a Bangladeshi academic and researcher specializing in Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, with a strong focus on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), numerical analysis, and heat transfer. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering at the World University of Bangladesh, a role he has held since September 2023. Alongside this, he has been contributing as a Lecturer and Coordinator in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at City University since 2018.
Masud holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT, OIC) and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT). His academic journey includes experience as a Teaching Assistant at IUT, and he began his professional career in industry as an Executive at Shapla Knitting Ltd. before transitioning fully into academia.
Masud has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences, with research spanning topics such as geothermal ground-to-air tunnel heat exchangers, numerical modeling of energy systems, silicon wafer characterization, machine learning applications in lithium-ion batteries, and IoT applications in manufacturing. His works have appeared in Case Studies in Thermal Engineering, AIP Conference Proceedings, European Scientific Journal, Springer’s Emerging Trends in Mechatronics, and Results in Surfaces and Interfaces, among others.
Beyond his teaching and research, he has developed expertise in Ansys, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and C programming, equipping him with both theoretical and practical skills for engineering problem-solving. He has also received formal training in CAD design and CFD applications.
