Brigadier General (retd) Kamal began his professional journey as an army officer in the Mechanical Engineering branch. During his service, he developed strong foundations in engineering applications, problem-solving, and organizational leadership. His military background played a significant role in shaping his professional character and work ethic.

Following his military career, he took on several key roles in both industry and academia. He served as the Additional Director at Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory (BMTF), Gazipur where he was involved in important technical and administrative responsibilities. Later, he joined MIST as a faculty member and contributed significantly to academic development for more than 12 years. His academic and leadership capabilities led him to serve as the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department and subsequently as the Head of the Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) Department. He also held the prestigious position of Vice Chancellor at Bangladesh Army University of Engineering & Technology (BAUET), where he played a vital role in advancing the institution’s academic and administrative excellence for more than 4 years.. Currently he is also serving as adjunct faculty in MIST.

Brig Gen (retd) Kamal’s research interests lie in the fields of heat transfer, HVAC, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics. He has published numerous research articles in reputed national and international journals, contributing to the advancement of engineering knowledge. He has also actively participated in a wide range of seminars and symposiums, where he shared his insights and engaged with the global academic community. He is proud member of Engineers Institution of Bangladesh (IEB).

In addition to his professional achievements, Brig Gen (retd) Kamal has traveled to various countries, gaining valuable international exposure and broadening his academic and cultural perspectives. His extensive experience, dedication to education, and commitment to research make him a respected figure in the field of engineering and higher education.
