Biography
Zayeed Bin Mamun is currently working as a Lecturer at World University of Bangladesh (WUB). He received his Master's in Mechanical Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) and his Bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech). His research area is Deep Learning Applications in Fluid Mechanics, innovatively applying Scientific Machine Learning techniques for real-world engineering problems. His thesis work involves implementing a novel combined CNN and PINN framework to attain 3D velocity and pressure data from just 2D Particle Image Velocimetry snapshots. His work has resulted in a conference presentation, a 2nd-place position at a research poster competition, and 2 high-impact journal publications so far.
He has always been passionate about teaching. For over 3 years, he served as the Head Teaching Assistant for System Dynamics and Introductory Controls, leading teams of junior TAs and acting as the liaison between the university administration, the course teacher, and the undergraduate student body. He has also held presentations that introduced Wisconsin high-school students to sophisticated research labs, impressing the relevance of STEM fields into young minds.
