Professional SolidWorks Bootcamp Begins at World University of Bangladesh

The Department of Mechatronics Engineering (MTE) at World University of Bangladesh (WUB), in collaboration with the WUB-MTE Club, has launched a Professional SolidWorks Bootcamp aimed at enhancing students’ practical skills in computer-aided design (CAD) and preparing them for industry-oriented engineering work.

The two-month bootcamp comprises 24 classes and has been designed to provide participants with hands-on training in SolidWorks, one of the widely used CAD platforms in engineering and product design. The initiative is being conducted under the guidance of Farhan Mahbub, Chief Advisor of the WUB-MTE Club, and Ahmed Farhan, Faculty Advisor of the club.

The training sessions are being conducted by Rayhan Ahmed Munna, Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA), and Saymur Rahman, CAD Designer at Roton Engineering Works. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and practical exercises, participants are being introduced to the essential tools and techniques required for professional 3D modelling and mechanical design.

The bootcamp covers key areas including sketching fundamentals, part modelling, assembly design, and the development of a final engineering project. The project-based component is intended to provide students with an opportunity to apply their acquired knowledge to a practical engineering design task.

Upon successful completion of the program, all participants will receive certificates, while merit awards will be presented to the top three performers in recognition of their outstanding performance throughout the bootcamp.

The initiative reflects the Department of MTE and WUB-MTE Club’s commitment to providing students with practical, industry-relevant learning opportunities alongside their academic program. By strengthening students’ CAD and design capabilities, the bootcamp is expected to contribute to the development of skilled and career-ready engineering graduates.
