World University of Bangladesh Hosts Grand “Mechanical Carnival 2026”
The Department of Mechanical
Engineering at World University of Bangladesh (WUB) successfully organized Mechanical
Carnival 2026 on July 17, 2026, bringing together nearly 1,600
students from both the day and evening programs in a vibrant
celebration of academic excellence, innovation, sportsmanship, creativity, and
departmental unity.
The event was graced by Professor Dr.
M. Nurul Islam, Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor, as the Chief
Guest. Distinguished guests included Professor Zaki Imam, Registrar; Professor Dr. AQM Shafiul Azam,
Dean of Academic Affairs and Research; Professor M. Moqbul Hossain, Controller
of Examinations; Md. Kamrul Hossain, Joint Registrar; A.N.M. Ahsan Thouhid,
Joint Registrar; Professor Dr. Mohammad Quamruzzaman, Dean, Faculty of Science
and Engineering; Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Director, IQAC and
Chairperson of the program; Professor Dr. Md. Shawkut Ali Khan, Head,
Department of Automobile Engineering; and Farhan Mahbub, Head, Department of
Mechatronics Engineering;, along with respected deans, heads of
departments, faculty members, alumni, and invited guests.
The program commenced with a
welcome address by Professor A.K.M. Amirul Islam, who emphasized the
importance of innovation, leadership, teamwork, and professional excellence in
shaping future mechanical engineers.
One of the major highlights of the
carnival was the Prize Giving Ceremony, where the champions of the Clemon's Uni
Campus Cricket Tournament and the Inter-Department
Collaboration Futsal Cup were honored for their outstanding
achievements. The winning teams received trophies and recognition for their
exceptional performance, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The celebration also featured a Cake Cutting
Ceremony, symbolizing the unity and continued progress of the
Department of Mechanical Engineering. The festivities continued with an
energetic Victory
Rally and a vibrant Cultural Program, where students showcased their
talents through music, dance, drama, and other cultural performances.
With the enthusiastic
participation of nearly 1,600 students, Mechanical Carnival 2026 became one of the largest
student gatherings organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The
event strengthened the bond among students, faculty members, alumni, and the
university administration while promoting collaboration, innovation,
friendship, and holistic student development.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering expressed its sincere
gratitude to all distinguished guests, faculty members, sponsors, volunteers,
organizers, and students whose dedication and active participation contributed
to the grand success of Mechanical Carnival 2026.
